The trading platform of the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation
Catalyst Markets is the first Indigenous trading platform, developed and operated by the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation.
Catalyst Markets was developed to encourage and enable investment in Indigenous carbon farming and cultural fire, including both sharing of knowledge and implementation. This has far-reaching core benefits for Indigenous communities, their Country, and the environment as a whole.
Since its inception in 2010, the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation (AbCF) has been connecting Aboriginal communities who supply carbon credits – and now also Cultural Fire Credits – with organisations seeking to offset their carbon footprint and support Indigenous communities.
Our aim is to catalyse life-changing community prosperity through carbon farming. We provide training and build wealth for Traditional Custodians as well as non-Aboriginal carbon farmers through the implementation of carbon and cultural fire projects that demonstrate important environmental, social, and cultural core benefits.
With a strong culture of innovation and collaboration, we operate on the cutting edge, continuously exploring new ideas and community-based solutions. We bring together people with fresh ways of working, diverse professional experience, and a common desire to achieve outcomes that tackle Indigenous poverty and climate change.
For our team, nothing is more important than making sure your investment goes directly towards enhancing the wellbeing of Indigenous communities and the Country we live upon.
“You have to practise culture, you have to be out on Country talking to the next generation and teaching them about traditional ecological knowledge. If we can facilitate that by having an economy wrapped around it, we are starting to look at sustainability in a really genuine way.”
— Rowan Foley, CEO, Aboriginal Carbon Foundation
